My name is Tammy and I work in QA at TrackVia. I am thrilled to announce the arrival of the new TrackVia API later this month for TrackVia Enterprise users.
All of you developers out there are probably jumping out of your seats, but business users might be saying, “So what? What does API mean to me?” For some, API can be intimidating, but it doesn’t need to be. It is an incredibly powerful tool we hope you get to use to your advantage.
New TrackVia API coming in September
Let me start off by explaining API for those of you who aren’t as familiar with it. API stands for ‘application programming interface’ and is essentially is a way to plug two applications together. It is code from an application that has been exposed to developers so they can interact with the application. An API allows data to be pulled from an online source in a structured way. It must be structured on both sides of a request.
You, as the user, connect to an API through the endpoints, which are essentially special URLs that are supplied to you by the application you are aiming to connect to. TrackVia feels this is a vital addition toward making our product an even more valuable and powerful tool for its users. The new TrackVia API gives you the power to integrate with almost any application you would like. The beauty of it is that you can write your own integrations, sticking with the already customizable nature of TrackVia.
Let’s say you have a daily report for your boss that involves an incredibly large volume of numbers. You might have been taking them from one application and entering or importing them manually into TrackVia, which could take a lot of your valuable time. The TrackVia API now makes it incredibly easy to transfer thousands of records in a large group instead of having to enter or import them manually through the endpoints we provide you with. This increases your efficiency and lets you finish more every day.
We hope the new TrackVia API is a powerful addition to your TrackVia application(s). Please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments below, or contact us via Twitter @trackvia. We love to hear your feedback!
