Build your best apps with TrackVia education

There are many ways to learn low-code app development. I’m a firm believer that the low-code and citizen developer movements are all about self reliance. I’ve spent the last 8 years working closely with hundreds of TrackVia customers and one common theme that’s emerged is that the happiest and most successful customers are the ones who have a deep understanding of the product and have the confidence to build and modify apps on their own.

But let’s face it! Learning all the ins-and-outs of a piece of software can be a commitment. Even though we work extremely hard to make TrackVia intuitive and easy to use, there are always concepts that take the time to learn and practice. What’s more, different people learn in different ways and have different educational needs as they progress their skills.

We’ve made a commitment to develop many different types of educational resources that will support all our customers, no matter their learning style or their current skill set. So, how do you know what’s right for you? Here’s a breakdown of our current educational offerings and their benefits.

Instructor-led training

These courses, usually 10-15 hours in length (split over 3 days), are our premier educational offering. They are delivered by an experienced TrackVia Implementation Engineer, typically in a live webinar format, but can also be delivered in-person.

There are three levels of instructor-led courses: Level 1 (core functionality), level 2 (advanced functionality), and level 3 (application building). For information on the topics covered in each course, read about it in our TrackVia University guide, or sign up for an upcoming course.

Benefits of instructor-led training includes:

    • Hands-on exercises
    • Ability to work directly with a TrackVia Implementation Engineer
    • Collaboration with other TrackVia customers
    • Complimentary certification exam submission

This option is right for you if:

    • You have a training budget (there is a cost associated with enrollment)
    • You have the ability to dedicate 10-15 hours of time during the week of training
    • You have a group of people within your organization who would like to participate in training together (the private or in-person option is great for this)

On-demand training

Recently, we launched the new TrackVia University website. This website, which gives TrackVia administrators on-demand access to self directed training courses, is our newest educational offering. Content is divided into sections related to product orientation, core functionality, and advanced functionality. We’re adding courses related to integrations, app building, and more!

Benefits of on-demand training includes:

    • Availability – you don’t have to wait for the next instructor-led course to get started
    • Learning at your own pace by increasing the video playback speed to move through the content more quickly, or rewind to revisit a concept
    • Short courses so you can complete them as your schedule allows

This option is right for you if:

    • You don’t have a training budget (this option is free!)
    • You have a very busy schedule and cannot dedicate the time needed to participate in the instructor-led training
    • You would like to brush up on a specific topic

Knowledge base

The Knowledge Base is the definitive documentation repository on the TrackVia platform. It contains every piece of technical information on every topic. Articles are grouped into sections by feature and are easily found via the search feature.

Benefits of the Knowledge Base includes:

    • Quick and easy access to information
    • Easy to share content
    • Extensive documentation on the platform

This option is right for you if:

    • You have a very specific question on a particular feature
    • You’re looking for information on a new feature (the knowledge base is the first resource we release information to)
    • You prefer to learn using written information

Developer Docs

The TrackVia developer site details how to use developer-centric aspects of the TrackVia platform. It has information on how to use the API to write your own integrations, how to use the microservices feature of TrackVia, and how to write app scripts for your tables.

Benefits of the Developer site includes:

    • Interactive pages for testing out API endpoints
    • Best practices and common use cases for app scripts
    • Quick and easy access to information

This option is right for you if:

    • You’re a developer looking for information on our API
    • You’re writing or updating app scripts in TrackVia

Community

As a TrackVia customer, you have access to our online community forum. This forum allows you to communicate with other TrackVia customers on a variety of topics. You can post questions, respond to other customer’s questions, and even make enhancement requests.

Benefits of the community forum includes:

    • Seeing how other TrackVia customers have solved issues
    • Voting for enhancements to the TrackVia platform

This option is right for you if:

    • You’re confident in your TrackVia admin abilities and would like to assist others
    • You can’t find the answer to a question in the Knowledge Base or on-demand courses
    • You would like to make a TrackVia feature request

Monthly webinars/demos

Every month, we host a webinar designed to help our customers get more value out of the TrackVia platform. These webinars can cover a range of topics, from new features, to best practices, to examples of creative ways to use the system. You can find more information on how to register for our webinars by following our LinkedIn page or through our monthly customer newsletter.

Benefits of the monthly webinars includes:

    • Short informational sessions (usually between 30 and 60 minutes)
    • “Use case” centric content that’s not necessarily found in the knowledge base
    • The ability to ask questions live and get answers from an expert

This option is right for you if:

    • You want to stay up-to-date on new features
    • You’ve already completed the instructor-led and/or on-demand content and want to continue learning about new ways to use TrackVia

As you can see, there are many different tools at your disposal to learn about low-code app development using the TrackVia platform. But that doesn’t mean you have to choose just one of them! In fact, we highly encourage you to use every option we outlined above. We’re sure that you’ll find them all useful as you progress through your low-code journey.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for new educational resources and content. We’ve got lots of great things planned for 2021!
